The Johnston Family celebrates 140 years of presence in New Caledonia. Philip et Éric Johnston decided to compile this book to record the Johnston's main achievements, trials and tribulations. With the close assistance of a local historian and input from several family members they are proud to share the historical account of the Johnston Family in New Caledonia.
This book is also without doubt a historical record of events in New Caledonia as the pioneer Thomas Johnston as well as his youngest son Willy were both in turn appointed British Consul from 1922 to 1968.
